Christopher Marlowe a great supporter of the Renaissance, blueprinted a drama that has all the elements of a new age. In his tragic vein, he presents passions so naturally, and misfortunes so probably, as he stabs his readers with such a true sense and feeling that it makes their eyes wide and red.
Context of Act 1 :
Conjure Dr. Faustus analyses the worthlessness of the subjects and adopts the black magic. When old magic has him in its spell, he wishes to attain Godlike powers. Evil angel gets triumphs over Good Angel. Dr.Faustus got the services of Mephistophilis on the price of his soul but looked dissatisfied.
Context of Act 2:
When old black magic has him in its spell, Conjurer Dr.Faustus repents and faces mental conflict. Once again good and evil Angels appear and Dr . Faustus is made terrified by the Evil Angel that the devils would tear him if he repented. During his conflict, Lucifer himself appears to chide Faustus for his wrong behavior towards devils. Lucifer shows a delightful show of seven deadly sins like pride, Covetousness, Wrath, Envy, Gluttony, sloth, and lechery.

When old black magic has him in its spell, Chorus told about the adventures of Conjurer Dr. Faustus that he had enjoyed on the back of dragons. He has acquired knowledge of the universe and astronomy and now he is in the private room of Pope in Rome. Here Faustus teases Pope and his followers. Chorus tells about the fame of Faustus that has spread from land to land.
Context of Act 4:
When old black magic has him in its spell, Conjurer Dr.Faustus shows tricks to amuse the Emperor and Queen. He calls the souls of Alexander and his wife. He deceives poor horse dealers just for money. Dr.Faustus also meets Duke and Duchess and amuses them by giving grapes out of season.
Context of Act 5:
When old black magic has him in its spell, Conjurer Faustus brings Helen of Troy before his fellow scholars. The advice of the old man falls flat on him and at the appointed hour the devils come and snatch him away to Hell. His damnation was completed due to his own disappointment over the mercy of God. About his fall the Chorus warns that the weighed branch always bores fruit.
